Marty I. Lopez is happily married with three beautiful daughters and is a member of the Apsáalooke Nation (Crow Tribe). In 2011 he received an A.A. degree in Native American Studies (Crow Studies) from Little Big Horn College of Crow Agency, Montana. He transferred to the University of Montana and graduated with a B.A. degree in Native American Studies and Anthropology in 2013. He is currently a graduate student in Anthropology and Cultural Heritage at the University of Montana. Marty plans on studying the relationship between the Apsáalooke people with the Absaroka Agency (1875-1884) and the Yellowstone River watershed during the early reservation period.
